My UX Journey

My UX journey began in college. I was majoring in Game & Interactive Media Design, which I later received a degree in. I was taking a Computer Informaton Systems class and we had an assignment where we had to use html and css. At first it was a little difficult for me to grasp the concept of tags and classes, but there was something about it that drew me in. From there my passion for design was ignited. I started to learn as much as I could and decided that programming and design was my focus when it came to a future career. My game professor recogized that I had a passion for UI, so he told me about an internship opportunity as a web design intern. That was my first exposure to applying my skills outside of class, and it was challenging but also very rewarding because I learned so much. I definitely knew from there that working with clients and solving problems was something I was absolutely passionate about.

Whenever I'm designing a screen, I find myself smiling and laughing with excitement. It is my happy place and it's something I can see myself doing for the rest of my life. Learning the best practices and standards and also growing with new technology is something I love to engulf myself in. My experiences throughout the years have allowed me to create my UX portfolio website from scratch, and I hope you enjoy as you view it. I'm so grateful I had an assignment on html and css. :)
